HOEKSTEEN VAN DE SAMENLEVING (2026)

ASSISTANT EDITOR

Hoeksteen van de samenleving is a feminist political documentary film by director Juul Op den Kamp. I assisted in the final stages of the edit. It is available for viewing onĀ NPOStart.

In 1956, the legal incapacity of married women was abolished in the Netherlands, allowing women to work, travel, and make financial decisions independently without permission from their husbands. On paper, equality seems to have been achieved, yet the division of work, care, and income often shifts once children enter the picture. Why are traditional gender roles so persistent? And what role do politics play in sustaining them?
